Greetings,

I’m Joseph Chang, LA-based designer. Since I could remember, I knew I wanted to be a designer. It was at a young age where I developed my passion for design. Through my father, it was his love for all things art and design: cars, architecture, furniture, and much more. Through this, he was able to share the love and passion for cars with me.

After graduating, I worked for the automotive start-up 777 Motors, based in the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. I consulted design of the 777 hypercar, refining the design of the flagship model. Alongside that role, I was in marketing and sales, working with partner to build relations, and taking the 1:1 prototype to various events. Simultaneously, I worked with Red Travel, an automotive marketing and travel agency that organizes auto shows in Italy, tour in Italy with supercars, and is a consultant Automobili Lamorghini.

Recently, I’ve been called to move home to be closer to my family. During my time home, I’ve had the privilege to intern for The CARLAB, an independent design studio in Orange, CA, learning all things from design to packaging to market research.

I moved to Turin, Italy, when I was 18 to study automotive design at IED Torino. Over the three years, I’ve collaborated with numerous brands, including Suzuki, Stellantis (Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia, Jeep), Lamborghini, Jaguar, and Pininfarina, expanding my knowledge in design for future mobility. It was through these collaborations that I was able to understand what it takes to be a designer and what it's like to be a designer in a studio.
